Martin Lewis has explained how people will receive the £150 council tax rebate to combat rising energy bills.
The government announced a raft of support schemes this month after Ofgem confirmed the energy price cap will rise by 54% in April due to surging wholesale gas prices.
Rishi Sunak announced a flat £200 bill-credit loan would be made available for all domestic electricity customers in England, Scotland and Wales.

The Chancellor also confirmed a £150 rebate for all households in England that are in council tax bands A, B, C or D.
It was confirmed this week that if you pay your council tax by direct debit, then the £150 will be paid automatically into your bank account.
Martin said there is still time to set up the direct debit for those who qualify.
He said: "I don't have deadlines for you because each council has its own one of those."
The consumer champion also urged viewers to not confuse the £150 support with the £200 bill credit loan.
He said: "It's not repayable, it's not taxable, it doesn't affect your benefits. If you get the single person council tax discount, don't worry you still get the full £150."
The Money Saving Expert also explained that anyone who doesn't want to set up a direct debit will be contacted by the council to arrange their claim.
