Martin Lewis says going green can save you money - including getting paid to recycle your rubbish and getting cash for old gadgets.
Lewis, the founder of MoneySavingExpert, made the announcement during the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow, where most world leaders are trying to crack the problem of global pollution.
Speaking in this week's MSE newsletter, he said: "It's not as easy as it was to go green. The energy crisis has put paid to some key routes. Yet as the UN climate change conference COP26 is on, I wanted to try.
"Our prime focus is easy change where cash and planet saving intersect. Yet while sometimes going green saves you money, there are times the two conflict. The ecologically sound options can sometimes be costly and involve lifestyle sacrifice.
"There are a myriad of factors, so ultimately this isn't about preaching, it's about options. The judgement and choice must be yours."
His tips for saving cash and the environment at the same time include:
1) Get freebies and vouchers for recycling - worth up to £5
Lewis said many high-street retailers give discounts on purchases if you recycle the packaging afterwards.
These include stores like H&M, if you go in and recycle old clothes or textiles like towels and sheets.
If you bring in a bag of clothes or fabric from any brand to an H&M store you can get a £5 voucher if you spend £25 in-store.
Another good bargain is a £5 voucher if you spend £35 on clothing, home and beauty products at M&S.

To get this, you have to recycle at least one M&S-branded item at an Oxfam shop.
In return you get a voucher valid for one month.
Likewise you can get a free MAC lipstick if you return six used MAC lipstick containers to a MAC beauty counter, or send them to the company in the post.
This excludes Viva Glam and limited edition MAC lipsticks.
But as the cosmetics normally cost £17.50 each, MAC fans should start storing up their old containers.
2) Get up to £150 for recycling old phones
Many of us have a drawer full of old electronics we're not sure how to recycle - and that we think other people won't want to buy.
But you can actually get paid to recycle old phones.
Lewis said there are some companies that specialise in this, including Sell My Mobile, Compare and Recycle and Compare My Mobile.
One will give £150 for a 256GB iPhone 8, or £116 if you have the 64GB version.
But shopping around makes sense, as different companies offer different amounts for old mobiles.
If your phone is in good condition it will be sold off in another country or broken down for parts.
3) Resell your old plastic bags for 10p
Supermarket like Morrisons and Ocado can actually pay you for used plastic bags off your hands when you shop online.
Morrisons will give you 10p a bag, but it only accepts its own ones.
It will knock off the value of any bags from your order, and any bags from your current shopping can only be cashed in for future transactions.
Ocado is also offering 10p a bag for its own bags, but it will accept and recycle bags from any supermarket

4) Get 10p for recycling plastic bottles
Iceland is offering a trial in five stores to hand out a 10p voucher for every bottle returned.
The stores are: Hillhead (Glasgow), Merry Hill, Belfast Park Centre, Fulham and Leeds Merrion centre.
Lidl is doing the same thing in six stores, also offering a 10p voucher for any drink container bought in Lidl.
Participating stores are: Broxburn, Dundee, Edinburgh Granton, Glasgow Yoker, Hamilton and Kirkcaldy.
Sainsbury's has reverse vending machines in seven stores, which will give a 5p voucher for every bottle - and you can return up to 500 bottles at a time.
These are available in its branches in Braehead, Denny, Lincoln, Mansion House, Newbury, Newcastle Northumberland and Sutton Park Local.
The government is also trialling a bigger scheme to get more plastic bottles recycled.
If rolled out, this would see a small fee added to the price of each bottle, which customers can get back when bottles are returned.
5) Get 50p off hot drinks with a reusable cup
Cardboard coffee and tea cups cannot be recycled due to the waterproof lining on the cardboard.
But you can get money off hot drinks if you bring your own cup to participating stores.
For example, Paul and Pret a Manger will give you up to 50p off, Leon 45p and Starbucks, Costa and Greggs 25p.
