Martin Lewis apologises for error on ITV show saying he had a 'mental hiccup'

Martin Lewis apologised for making an "error" on his ITV show after suffering a "mental hiccup".

The money expert was hosting his usual savings show, helping thousands of Brits with their finances.

Towards the end of the show, Martin was advising viewers on the best saving accounts.

He said: "Normally I would say try and fix your savings, to lock in on a better rate, but the best one year fixed is just 1% with Metro Bank."

But professional as ever, Martin immediately took to Twitter to issue the correct advice.

Martin tweeted: "APOLOGY. I made an error on the #martinlewis show just now.

"The top 1 year fixed savings is Marcus account, which is what I thought I'd said, but I've been told I said Metro bank. It was a mental hiccough, my apologies."

But fans said he needn't apologise, as they praised him for his efforts.

Abs said: "You're human. Don’t worry."

Carol joked: "You have to prove you're only human now and again."
