Martin King's wife Jenny McCarthy asks for prayers as she returns to hospital after brain surgery

Jenny McCarthy has asked for prayers after returning to hospital following brain surgery.

The photographer and wife of Virgin Media star Martin King underwent surgery on a brain tumour last week and returned home from hospital on Friday.

In an update to her social media followers on Monday, Jenny revealed that she is back in Beaumont Hospital.

“Can't believe I had to come back to Beaumont,” she wrote alongside a crying emoji.

“Please say a prayer they can manage the pain for me,” she continued.

In a separate post three hours later, Jenny thanked everyone for their support.

“Thank you so much for all of your lovely messages,” she posted alongside three hearts.

Following last week’s surgery, Jenny shared a heartfelt post on Instagram telling her followers how "grateful" she was to have it behind her.

"And just like that, Professor Ciaran Bolger decided to let me home to relax. I've never been so grateful, grateful to have the last week behind me.

"It looks great, just one more little test to come back. But for now it's time to chill out on the couch and start the road to getting Jenny back to where she actually belongs."

In 2011, Jenny had a brain tumour successfully removed. However, last month she shared the news that the tumour may have begun to regrow.

She wrote: “Hello Everyone. So, I have some news… not the best news but not the worst news either.

“Some of you may already know that I had a brain tumour removed successfully in 2011 by an incredible person, Professor Ciaran Bolcer at Beaumont Hospital.

“Unfortunately, after a recent brain scan, it seems there is new activity. This means there is some ‘swollen tissue’ which is probably the tumour growing.”

After speaking to experts, she had “good news”, adding: “Good news is, it’s not malignant and Professor Bolger will need to carry out some more brain surgery to remove it.

“Ciaran has assured me that after surgery, I will need to take six weeks off but after that I’ll be back doing what I love and that’s documenting weddings, newborn baby & portrait shoots and of course, bringing out more incredible wedding and baby products.”

She paid tribute to her husband Martin and her children for their support.

“I can’t thank you all enough. Thank you for always believing in me and for all of your support along the way.

“To my lovely Jen at the studio, Amy and to Matthew… no words. Incredible team.”

She wrote with hearts: “My Hubby. My Kids.

“I’ve decided to tell you all about this myself, before it gets out and reading it second hand.

“I am going to get through this and I’ll be back to the same Jenny you all know in a matter of weeks. Love Jenny."
