Martin Keown has saluted Alexandre Lacazette's show of defiance ahead of Arsenal's thumping victory over Slavia Prague.
The Gunners forward took the knee right in front of the Czech side after they stood by defender Ondrej Kudela in recent weeks.
Kudela was handed a 10-game ban by UEFA for racially abusing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara during a Europa League last 16 clash at Ibrox in March.
Lacazette and his team-mates then backed up the Frenchman's display by dismantling Slavia 4-0 to book a place in the semi-final.
And Arsenal legend Keown was clearly pleased his old club "got their message across".
"He's definitely making a point there," Keown said on BT Sport.
"They made it difficult for those players going into the game tonight.
"The way that they played, Arsenal, they certainly got their message across in their performance, didn't they?"
On his players taking the knee, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists he was fully supportive.
He said: "They asked me and the club to take that initiative.
"They had the right reasons for that, the club was supportive.
"I think it was a great gesture.”
