Martin Keown names the Arsenal defender "under pressure" following 4-0 win over Standard Liege

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has picked out the key young gun who could break into Unai Emery's first team following the 4-0 win over Standard Liege.

The Gunners cruised to a comfortable victory at the Emirates thanks to a brace from Gabriel Martinelli, while Joe Willock and Dani Ceballos also found the back of the net.

But Keown was also impressed with the performance provided by Kieran Tierney, the Scottish left-back who made a much-publicised transfer switch from Celtic in the summer.

Tierney is yet to start a match in the Premier League but featured in the Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest and further enhanced his reputation against Standard Liege. Keown now believes he can break into the first team.

"I was always told as a young player that when you come in, you have to make your mark. There's no time to lose," Keown told BT Sport.

"Tierney made really good use of that opportunity, bursting down the left-hand side. He puts the ball in the box time and time again.

"He’s really positive in everything he does. He wants to go at people, he is oozing quality, and (Sead) Kolasinac is under pressure, there is no doubt about it.

"I was really pleased with him tonight and he looks as though he’s a wonderful signing.

"He can be really happy with his nice work.”

On Arsenal's back four line-up moving forward, Keown added: "I think Tierney comes in. Sokratis plays and David Luiz but (Rob) Holding has a chance to break up that partnership, he’s good enough to do it, but again he’s coming back from injury.

"(Hector) Bellerin as well but (Callum) Chambers looks like a different player recently.

"I think (Ainsley) Maitland-Niles has lost that berth."
