Martin Keown makes bold claim about Mesut Ozil and Arsenal's Premier League title-winning squads

Former Arsenal legend Martin Keown has sensational revealed that Mesut Ozil's "disdainful" body language wouldn't have been put up with during his stint at the club.

The German playmaker has fallen out of favour at the Emirates despite being one of the club's top earners.

The mercurial number ten has only played one Premier League game for the Gunners this season under Unai Emery.

Ozil has subsequently been absent from the matchday squad since that sole appearance against Watford.

Instead, youngsters Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka and Matteo Guendouzi have all been preferred in midfield and attack.

Ozil launched a defence of his record at the club this week in an interview and insisted he has no intentions to leave the club until his contract runs out in 2021.

Whilst Unai Emery has not completely shut the door on the playmaker, it's clear he doesn't feature in the boss' long-term vision.

Former centre-back Keown has admitted that Ozil's behaviour and attitude wouldn't have been accepted during his stint at the club.

Keown claimed that he fears some of his ex-teammates would have "had him round by the throat" if he had persisted with his current body language during their time.

"I feel at times he has been disdainful with his team-mates if he doesn't get the right ball," Keown told talkSPORT.

"To be honest, if he was in our dressing room there were a few players who would have had him round the throat early on because of his body language."

On Ozil's continued absence from the squad, he added: "I was seriously worried for his immune system, the amount of games he missed through allegedly being ill, or a back injury.

"He has only been given another opportunity with Emery because it looks like he has started to work hard again.

"I believe he has been over-indulged in the past. It's embarrassing for the football club that he is not featuring.

"The manager has to get him back into the team but if his attitude drops again then big decisions need to be made."
