Martin Keown includes just one Manchester United player in combined Liverpool XI

Arsenal legend Martin Keown is the latest pundit to select his combined Manchester United and Liverpool XI ahead of Sunday's meeting at Old Trafford.

Liverpool are riding high at the top of the Premier League after a 100 per cent winning start to the season, while United are 15 points behind in 12th place following a series of disappointing results.

Danny Mills and Jermaine Jenas both selected combined XIs made up purely of Liverpool players earlier in the week but Keown has found room for Harry Maguire ahead of Joel Matip in his team.

In his Mail Online column, he says: "This was once billed as a meeting between two of England’s most elite teams, a titanic clash of talent, but times have changed.

"One team heads into this weekend sitting eight points clear of Manchester City, one of the best Premier League teams we’ve ever seen.

"The other will walk out at Old Trafford sitting mid-table, having fallen from glory at an alarming rate.

"Of the United players available on Sunday, only Harry Maguire makes my combined XI."
