Martin Keown explains why the future does not look good for Arsenal

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has admitted he is concerned about the club's future without Aaron Ramsey, following a poor run of form in recent weeks.

The Gunners head into the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on the back of three consecutive defeats against Wolves, Crystal Palace and Leicester City, which have left their hopes of a top-four finish in tatters.

Unai Emery's best chance of leading Arsenal back into the Champions League may now be via Europa League glory, raising the importance of their double header against one of Emery's old sides.

However, they will be without a key man for both legs, and the rest of their matches this season, after Aaron Ramsey's campaign came to a close following an injury sustained against Napoli - which now stands as his last appearance for the Gunners before his move to Juventus at the end of the season.

'What's wrong with Unai Emery?' - Arsenal fans think they've spotted a big mistake in their side

The loss of Ramsey is certainly a blow for Arsenal and it has been followed by a woeful run of form that has seen the Gunners fail to win without their influential Welshman and Keown admits that has left him concerned about the future.

“If it’s a glimpse of the future it’s not a good one for Arsenal because they haven’t won a game since he got injured," he told BT Sport.

I think he’s been immense, he plays with great passion and heart. He loves the football club and is just the sort of player you want to keep here and build upon, so it’s a shame he’s not going to be here.”

Ramsey, who has scored in two FA Cup final victories for Arsenal, must now watch on from the sidelines during the final weeks of the campaign and has been stripped of a farewell performance at the Emirates Stadium against Brighton this weekend, which is the Gunners' penultimate game of the season.
