Arsenal legend Martin Keown has played down reports of a clash between David Luiz and Dani Ceballos in training.
On Thursday, The Athletic reported the Gunners pair clashed, resulting in Luiz hitting Ceballos on the nose and drawing blood.
The report went on to add that apologies were exchanged and training went on to continue as usual, but Ceballos later tweeted out seemingly denying the incident, or at least the accuracy of it, saying it was 'fake'.
But even if it did happen, it's not uncommon to see on the training ground, according to Gunners legend Keown, who told talkSPORT: "If it did happen, it wouldn't be unusual. These things happen.
"It's never nice to see it but Arsenal lost that game against Villa heavily and maybe there is a little bit of a problem within the camp and sometimes people get fraught with one another.
"There's a fighting spirit there. You won't want it to happen too often.
"You need to keep everyone together and Arteta needs to be on top of it."
Mikel Arteta had his say on the incident on Friday, saying: "There is no problem at all (between the two players).
"I don't confirm anything, that only it is an issue that has been resolved, explained and let's move on,
"Whatever happens internally with any issues, or things that we don't expect, always we will try them internally. That has been dealt with and explained, and we move on."
Keown went on to say how things are always a little 'tetchy' behind the scenes at football clubs, again highlighting just how normal it is for heated exchanges to take place.
"It's always a little bit tetchy behind the scenes in a football club," he added. "It can overspill sometimes when things aren't going so well.
"But you want that competitiveness amongst the group. When there is competition for places, then you get the best performances."
