Arsenal pulled off a remarkable 2-2 draw at Chelsea this evening thanks to a resilient display following David Luiz's first-half sending off and it has led to reaction aplenty from BT Sport's pundits.
Luiz was red carded before Jorginho converted the spot-kick to give Chelsea a 1-0 advantage they held until the second period.
Gabriel Martinelli equalised in the 63rd minute after an incredible run from deep before he slotted home with his right foot.
But Cesar Azpilicueta restored the home side's lead with just six minutes of normal time remaining.
That was only before Hector Bellerin bagged another equaliser before Arsenal held on for an important draw at his bitter rivals.
Arsenal great Martin Keown, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand and former Chelsea star Joe Cole were all on hand to provide their reaction to the contest on BT Sport. All three of the pundits highlighted the resilience and spirit as a prime example of the corner that the Gunners may be about to turn as they push towards a potentially bright future.
"You’re watching that team tonight and you’re seeing the future out there. Martinelli, his goal, the passion, the spirit, we’ve been waiting for this for a long time," Keown told BT Sport.
"Those people are coming back into the football club. Martinelli, that is some performance tonight, Saka and even Xhaka, when he goes to central defence, a makeshift central defender, that’s as good as I’ve seen him play. They’ve shown real character and for most of the game they were down to 10 men."
Ferdinand shared his thoughts: "Arteta he shouted, he called for a shift in mentality. We spoke about it before, they’ve been renowned for having a group of people with fragile mentalities, but this could be a turning point.
"The way that they’ve come back from being a goal down, being down to 10 men, being in disarray at times, regaining composure and churning out a result like this, that demands character, that demands spirit, and added to that quality in vital moments and they showed that tonight."
Cole added: "You sense this is a massive night for the club, such a disjointed club over the last ten years, then you have these big moments, big games, and you feel that this could galvanise the whole club. They were brilliant tonight and their spirit was unbelievable."
