Martin Dubravka comments on his Newcastle United future - and speculation linking him with Juventus

Martin Dubravka has declared himself "happy" at Newcastle United and insists he is not considering a future away from St James' Park.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has attracted interest from Italian champions Juventus and a host of top European clubs, following his impressive first 18 months on Tyneside.

Newcastle initially signed the Slovakia international from Sparta Prague on a six-month loan in January 2018 and, after the shot-stopper excelled in the Premier League, United exercised the £4.5million option to buy in his deal.

Dubravka played every single minute of Newcastle's 2018/19 league season and has established himself as the Magpies' undisputed No 1.

But his consistently excellent performances have not gone unnoticed, with a host of Champions League clubs across the Continent keeping track of his situation.

And, while he has not categorically committed his future to Newcastle, the goalkeeper insists that he is uninterested in listening to speculation over his situation, and instead expects to return to Tyneside for pre-season training, which commences on July 4.

"I will not think about it. I just focus on my job here," Dubravka replied when asked if he would still be at St James' Park come the start of the 2019/20 campaign, given the Juventus speculation.

"I have heard some rumours, but I'm not interested in even speaking about it. I was just focused on my job here.

"What happens in the summer is up to the people in the office. I'm happy here - I'm playing every week and enjoying myself."

Dubravka's own future may be linked with that of manager Rafa Benitez, who remains in contact with the United hierarchy over a potential new contract, having met face to face with owner Mike Ashley and managing director Lee Charnley last Thursday.

A number of Magpies are waiting to learn if Benitez himself will stay before committing their own futures to the club - and, as of yet, Newcastle are believed to have received an offer during the current window for Dubravka, despite interest being registered in the goalkeeper.
