Martin Compston and his pal Phil MacHugh are set to return to screens once again with their popular BBC travel show.
Last year, the duo made their way across Scotland for their show 'Scottish Fling' and now they will go further afield and embark on a new epic Northern adventure.
The six-part show, which is called Martin Compston’s Northern Fling, will follow the Line of Duty actor and his best friend Phil as they search for all that it means to be from the 'North'. They'll start in Shetland, then they'll travel the length of Norway to lift the lid on what we can learn from the most northern of our Scandinavian neighbours.
The six episodes will all be 30 minutes long.
Speaking of the sequel, Martin said: “Me and my buddy, Phil MacHugh, are off again, this time to Norway which means ‘Way of the North’…
“North for some conjures up images of cold bleakness and a tough life, but is it really that? I don’t think so. We are heading to Norway to get some real northern exposure to the life and the people, at work and having fun.”
Martin Compston’s Northern Fling will go out on BBC Scotland, BBC Two and iPlayer.

Martin and Phil’s irrepressible sense of fun, based on their solid friendship, delighted viewers as they travelled cross Scotland and it is going to be so interesting – and I would expect a lot of fun – to get their take on Norway and we are delighted these wonderful wanderers are returning to BBC Scotland and BBC network for new series.”
In Scottish Fling, the pair were on a mission to find out “what makes modern Scotland tick” and how the nation is being shaped by its people and landscape.
They travelled through the wild highlands, bustling cities and places off the beaten track - and viewers adored going on the journey with them.
Speaking previously about the show, Martin reckoned he was looking forward to travelling around and finding hidden gems.
He said: "I've travelled all over the country for work and leisure - but this is the first time I'll be meeting real modern Scots on camera, sharing their thoughts and passions.
"We're excited to get stuck in, and to experience the best that Scotland has to offer in the 21st century."
