Martin Compston voices TV campaign to help prevent drug deaths in Scotland

Actor Martin Compston is voicing a TV campaign to help prevent drug deaths in Scotland.

In the adverts, the Line of Duty star urges the public to learn how to recognise a drug overdose and intervene to save lives.

Compston, 37, of Greenock, Inverclyde, says: “Would you recognise the signs of a drug overdose? Unresponsive, snoring, blue lips, to name a few.”

He mentions naloxone, which can reverse the effect of an opioid overdose.

Scotland has the highest rate of drug-related deaths in Europe with 1339 recorded last year.

The drive, developed by the Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) and Scottish Government under the banner We Can Prevent Drug Deaths, runs until November.
