Martin Compston thanks fans as Line of Duty nominated for NTA

Martin Compston has thanked his fans after BBC drama Line of Duty was nominated for a National Television award.

Compston and co-stars Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure are all up for Drama Performance awards for their parts in the show.

The show as a whole is also up for Returning Drama, alongside the Unforgotton, Call the Midwife and The Crown.

Speaking on his Instagram, the 37-year-old shared a post thanking fans for their support.

He said: "Chuffed to bits with @officialntas nominations for myself @vicky.mcclure and the gaffer. Delighted with Line of Duty getting best returning drama nod as well, final round of voting now open, link in stories! Thanks again."

And fans couldn't be happier for the AC-12 trio.

One wrote: "Voted, you've got this compston!"

Another added: "I love this series, I'm from Brazil and I hope soon I can watch the next season on Netflix!!!"

While one commented: "So well deserved, congratulations to all."

The Line of Duty cast have been recognised at the awards (BBC/World Productions/Steffan Hill)

And one wrote: "Amazing wish I could vote for you all. Top class."

That's right, the National Television Awards 2021 are set to take place on September 9 at the O2 Arena in London.

The starry ceremony will be presented by comedian Joel Dommett and will see the best and brightest turnout in person for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
