Line of Duty's Martin Compston has been called 'Scotland's Justin Bieber' by Schitts Creek star Emily Hampshire.
Canadian actress Emily admits she didn't know who Martin was before meeting him on set for new Amazon Original drama The Rig, but she soon realised the extent of his fame.
Emily who was filming in Edinburgh's First Stage Studios told BBC's The Edit: "We went for dinner and walked down the street and this guy is like the mayor of Scotland or something.
"He is like Justin Bieber here. So now I know who Martin Compston is."
Emily also said she'd loved her time in Scotland and explored the local area.
She even climbed Arthur's Seat with a costar from The Rig as they went for a "wee walk".
She laughed: "A lot of people say 'wee' for things that are not 'wee'."
Emily's comments came as Martin also called for a Scottish film studio admitting it's a brilliant time for the industry here.
He said: "It's essential. It's the kind of thing we've been crying out for years.
"We've always had the crews, the talent and locations but haven't had a solid base.
"When you are doing huge projects like this you do need studios.
"It's an amazing period for Scottish film industry.
