Martin Compston celebrated his birthday in style yesterday as an Edinburgh beer garden threw him a 'sparkling' surprise.
The Line of Duty star turned 37 yesterday and as he is currently working in Edinburgh, he decided to go along to the trendy beer garden at Rose Street Garden to grab a couple of drinks with friends.
And the friendly staff made his birthday extra special as he was presented with a huge birthday sparkler as five members of staff held up placards spelling 'MARTIN'.
The bar posted the clip on their Instagram page, and as they presented the actor with jazzy cocktails in a box, loud cheering can be heard erupting from the beer garden.

Trying to blow out his sparkler like a birthday candle, Compston laughs: "I don't know what to do with this!", he is then seen thanking the bar staff with a covid-friendly elbow bump.
The actor, originally from Greenock then took to Twitter to thank everyone who made his day in Edinburgh so special.
He wrote: "Edinburgh you were always the best looking city but way the birthday love, Covid hugs, drinks sent and get it up ye ya always said with a wink you’re straight to the top of the cool list."
Compston also shared his birthday with Line of Duty co-star Vicky McClure, and made sure he gave his 'mate' a mention too as she celebrated her 38th birthday.
He wrote: "Massive thanks for all the lovely birthday msgs really appreciated!!!No rain shall stand in the way of a pub pint today. Also the biggest of birthday love to the greatest partner in all of telly land, have a blinder mate @Vicky_McClure xx."
