Scots actor Martin Compston has announced that he is ready for "game day" as Soccer Aid is due to kick off tonight.
There were fears that the feisty annual charity game may be cancelled after an England player was struck down with Covid.
Radio presenter Roman Kemp was forced to pull out after testing positive for the virus.
He had been in training with his fellow England team mates but has now been separated from the group.
Compston is a regular feature in the Rest of the World team that do battle with their English foes every year, and will once again be donning the boots for the game.
The Line of Duty star will be lining up with the likes of fellow celebrities Usain Bolt and Kem Centinay, along with footballing legends like Roberto Carlos and Patrice Evra.
The game will be broadcast live on STV tonight, with the match kicking off at 7.30pm.
Compston used to play football professionally for Greenock Morton before turning his attention to acting.
The 37-year-old took to social media to announce how excited he was to take to the pitch.
He posted a picture of some of the stars taking part on his Instagram stories with the caption "game day."
On Twitter, he wrote that the game would be "tasty."
The tweet read: "Game day. Sell out, England team looking tasty, this could be some game! Please tune in @itv tonight 6.30pm and donate if you can."
Last year, Compston did not appear for the World XI, who narrowly defeated England on penalties to go into tonight's game as reigning champions.
The Vigil star did play in 2019, when his team won on penalties as well.
Tonight's game is being played at Manchester City's stadium the Etihad, with Alex Scott and Dermot O'Leary hosting.
The charity match has raised more than £47million for Unicef so far.
