Martin Bravo meets Steven Peterson at UFC on ESPN+ 17 in Mexico City

A featherweight bout between Martin Bravo and Steven Peterson is the latest addition to September’s UFC on ESPN+ 17 lineup.

MMA Junkie verified the matchup between Bravo (11-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Peterson (17-9 MMA, 1-3 UFC) with two people close to the situation following an initial report from Milenio.com. The people requested anonymity because UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

UFC on ESPN+ 17 takes place on Sept. 21 at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City. The entire card is expected to stream on ESPN+.

Bravo, 25, will return to action for the first time since July 2018. After starting his career with 11 consecutive wins, “Toro” has dropped back-to-back fights and hasn’t had his hand raised since November 2016.

He will attempt to get back on track against Peterson, 29, who is also on a two-fight skid. “Ocho” has just two victories in his past six fights overall and is more than a year removed from his lone UFC triumph, which took place at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale in July 2018.

The latest UFC on ESPN+ 17 lineup includes:

  • Yair Rodriguez vs. Jeremy Stephens
  • Carla Esparza vs. Alexa Grasso
  • Sergio Pettis vs. Alex Perez
  • Sijara Eubanks vs. Bethe Correia
  • Brandon Moreno vs. Askar Askarov
  • Angela Hill vs. Istela Nunes
  • Jose Quinonez vs. Carlos Huachin
  • Marion Reneau vs. Irene Aldana
  • Paul Craig vs. Vinicius Moreira
  • Martin Bravo vs. Steven Peterson
