Martin Boyle wins Hibs Player of the Year double as chairman Ron Gordon addresses Scottish Cup heartbreak

Hibs winger Martin Boyle has won a Player of the Year double in the club's end of season awards.

The Australian international notched 15 goals in all competitions and stood out in their run to third place in the Premiership and the Scottish Cup Final.

He's been awarded the club's Player of the Year award in the virtual ceremony.

And his fellow team-mates have also voted him as the pick of the bunch for 2020-21 in the Players' Player of the Year.

Goal of the Season was won by Cypriot midfielder Alex Gogic for his thunderbolt against Kilmarnock in January.

And Women's Player of the Year was picked up by centre-back Leah Eddie who stood out for her passing ability from the back.

Chairman Ron Gordon began the ceremony with a speech: "I want to start by thanking everybody at the club for their incredible commitment, dedication and hard work this year.

"I hope you can all see that the club has made great progress across the board.

"I want to thank the management, Jack and the coaching staff, everyone at HTC, everybody at Easter Road and all our supporters and partners for all their dedication and support this season.

"I know last Saturday's result is a disappointment for all of us and it's still very recent. And it should be a disappointment.

"But I think when you look at all the things we've accomplished this year, we can be very proud of everything you have done on the pitch to elevate the standard and flag of Hibernian."
