Martin Boyle on the Hibs show of faith he'll always be grateful to the club for

Martin Boyle says the faith Hibs showed by signing him while he was injured and out of contract is something he'll always be grateful to the club for.

Boyle this week agreed a new deal which keeps him at Easter Road until the summer of 2023, much to the delight of the Hibs fans.

The wide man initially signed for the club on-loan from Dundee in January 2015 but suffered an injury towards the end short-term spell. With his contract Dens Park expiring in the summer Hibs opted to offer him a permanent deal.

Since then he's become a key man for the club, and says the faith they showed in that "whirlwind summer" is something which will always spur him on.

He told Hibs TV: "This club has given me a chance. Going back to when I was injured and out of contract, they put faith in me in re-signing me. I always speak about it and they didn't need to do that. So I'm just showing a bit of faith in the club.

"It was a whirlwind summer for myself. I didn't know what I was going to do. Looking for work. But thankfully the club backed me and it's kind of worked out well, so far, so hopefully I can continue that for the club."

He added: "Hopefully I'm approaching my prime. We've made a good start to the season and I've got much more to give to the club."
