Martin Boyle offer 'rejected' by Hibs as Aberdeen's £500k advances thrown out

Hibs have rejected a £500k offer from Aberdeen for winger Martin Boyle, according to a report.

The 28-year-old already has five goals in seven appearances across all competitions this term and is a key member of Jack Ross' squad.

And that's why Easter Road chiefs have thrown out a bid from the Dons in the last 24 hours, according to the Daily Record.

Born in Aberdeen, Boyle began his career at Angus side Montrose and Stephen Glass has launched an ambitious chase in the final fortnight of the window to land the Australia international.

His contract does not run out until the summer of 2023.

But in the wake of the surprise offer Hibs hope to extend that even further and ward off the Dons.

Ross admitted he's keen to add another attacking player after Christian Doidge suffered an ankle injury and could be out until Christmas.

But losing Boyle would be a bitter blow to the side that pipped Aberdeen to third place last season.

And Glass appears keen for him to link up with a new look Pittodrie front line that includes strikers Christian Ramirez and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, as well as Ryan Hedges who was also the subject of a £500k offer from down south.
