Martin Boyle injury latest as Hibs star rated '50/50' for Australia duty

Australia boss Graham Arnold has revealed Martin Boyle is still a major doubt for Tuesday’s clash with Vietnam.

The winger limped out of Friday’s win over China in Qatar with a hamstring problem.

And although it was believed he would be fit for Tuesday, Arnold has revealed he is still 50/50 on whether he’ll make it.

That’s a worry for Hibs who will hope he’s back fit and available for Sunday’s Edinburgh derby against Hearts.

Jack Ross’ men travel to Tynecastle for the lunchtime kick-off on Sunday with both sides looking to maintain their unbeaten league record.

But they could be without Boyle if he continues to struggle with the hamstring injury picked up on international duty.

Australia face Vietnam in Hanoi on Tuesday and after rating Boyle as 50/50, Arnold insists he will play his strongest possible team against the tournament minnows.

He said: "It's a World Cup qualifier. I've got to put my best team out there, that I feel that is ready to go on to the pitch and perform at its best.

"Yes, it was a comprehensive win against China, but I expect us to improve in every facet in the game tomorrow night.

"The most important thing is the boys are physically and mentally very, very good."
