Martin Boyle given Rangers and Celtic transfer nod by former Manchester United coach

Australia No.2 Rene Meulensteen is shocked Hibs star Martin Boyle hasn't been targeted by Celtic or Rangers.

The winger is one of the most consistent performers outside of Glasgow in the Scottish Premiership and has helped the Leith side to an impressive start this season.

Aussie international Boyle asked the Hoops plenty of questions during the 2-2 draw at Easter Road on Saturday.

And Meulensteen is surprised the 27-year-old isn't on the radar of Celtic and Rangers.

The former Manchester United coach told the Daily Record: "I’m actually surprised that a club like Celtic or Rangers haven’t come in for him because he’s got so much to offer and is doing really well for Hibs right now.

"Martin’s great - he’s full of beans, hard-working, quick, agile and direct.

"He’s got something special about him, he’s not afraid to run at people and has a heart like a lion.

"Martin has had a few injury setbacks, but personality-wise he never stops smiling. He’s a good guy and a very good player."
