Marti Pellow can't resist paying musical tribute to the River Clyde on Glasgow hometrip

Wet Wet Wet's ex-frontman and now solo singer Marti Pellow couldn't resist paying a musical tribute to the River Clyde on Glasgow home trip.

Marti was by Glasgow's Clydeside when he decided to perform a litte ditty to the stretch of river that runs along the city and beyond.

Marti chose to sing Song of the Clyde, popularised by Kenneth McKellar which is an affectionate tribute to the large stretch of water, and name-checks the majority of towns and villages on its banks.

He began singing: "Oh the river Clyde, the wonderful Clyde The name of it thrills me and fills me with pride, Oh the river Clyde, the wonderful Clyde,The name of it thrills me and fills me with pride."

It was clear Clydebank born Marti was happy to be on home turf and fans were delighted to see him smiling.

One said: "Gone yersel marti that smile says how much ye love being bk hame love it."

Another added: "Can you get me some square sausage , and a plain loaf and drop it off to me in Manchester on the way back."

Someone else said: "Man you are happy to be home!!!...ahh that was great ! Now I have a big smile as well ! Love you Marti !"

Marti is due to play Aberdeen Music Hall on November 11, Hamilton Town House on November 14 and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on November 15.
