Martha Stewart designed a neutral chair that I can look at all day without getting bored – it's remarkably under $560

Martha Stewart.

It's not every day that you see a neutral chair that steals your attention, but then, not every chair is designed by Martha Stewart. The original influencer has, once again, proved her ability to create timeless, classic pieces that will look just as good 100 years from now, starting with a cream accent chair that's hiding online with a discount.

The Wood Christian Wide Swivel Armchair (available at Macy's) is one of Martha's simplest yet most eternally stylish pieces to date.

A part of the Bedford collection (inspired by her most famous property, this accent chair is fully upholstered and versatile for any living room – the perfect base for any colored pillow or throw, while also looking elegant as a stand-alone piece. It's currently on sale at Macy's, meaning you can pick up this heirloom piece for under $560.

Finding the perfect accent chair is one thing, but knowing how to style it is another. This includes mastering your living room furniture placement, to provoke conversation when you have guests, but encourage relaxation when you're alone.

In the living room, the seating arrangement should be centred around a central zone, but not feel too tight or close. The layout should allow the viewer to imagine the potential for relaxation and conversation,' says Interior Designer, Laura Hammett.

'Consider placing two sofas along two sides, and on the third side, place two accent chairs [much like this Martha-designed piece] with a small cocktail table between. This will be the side with the access route to the rest of the living space to open the flow of movement and make the home staging feel intentional and functional. This set up around a large coffee table creates an easy flow, ensuring the space feels open yet intimate.'

To make the process even easier, I've rounded up some living room styling essentials, including an equally timeless cocktail table designed by Martha.
