Married at First Sight UK set for action-packed shake-up ahead of new series

Married At First Sight fans are in for a huge treat as there has been a major shakeup ahead of the third UK series.

The smash-hit E4 show went down a storm with fans last year and now bosses are said to be keen to 'capitalise' on its success.

The hit programme, in which couples get married without having ever previously met each other, was the most watched show on catch-up service All4 in 2022.

Now matchmakers Charlene Douglas, Paul C Brunson, and Mel Schilling will make a return - and the series is set to be the longest one in history.

Back in 2021, the series of MAFS started off with a total of 21 episodes, before it increased to 30 episodes in 2022.

Avid fans of the binge-worthy reality TV series are in for a serious treat as the 2023 series approaches, as they will be able to watch to their heart's content as a whopping 36 episodes will air, including the nail-biting reunion episodes.

While big fans of the smash series are currently obsessed with the Australian version of the show, which is now on it's ninth series, filming has already begun for the next UK series which is due to air later this year.

Lifting the lid on the return of the hit E4 series, sex and relationship therapist Charlene said: "I love being a part of the show as I love helping people. A lot of time, work and effort goes on behind the scenes to ensure we are making strong matches.

"We truly want to help people find what they’re looking for. Our couples apply to be on Married At First Sight UK because conventional dating hasn't worked for them.

"They come to the experts ready to try a new way to meet someone. I don't think they're always prepared for the work that they'll have to do on themselves.

"Nothing gets past Paul, Mel or I," she told The Sun.

As well as longer running time, MAFS is also said to have several spin-off series in the pipeline.

The Christmas reunion special of the show is said to have gone down well with producers.

Bosses reportedly want do more of the get-togethers, inviting the brides and grooms back to the show to find out how life has been treating them.
