Married at First Sight UK's Matt and Daniel take huge step in relationship and plan for future

Married At First Sight’s Matt Jameson and Daniel McKee have taken big steps in their relationship, moving to Northern Ireland together and planning to have children.

The latest series of the E4 dating show was full of drama but the pair managed to stay away from it all with their blooming romance going from strength to strength each week.

The couple captured the nation's heart with their love story and made history as the show's first-ever same-sex couple.

Now the pair have taken a big step in their relationship, moving to Northern Ireland together with plans on buying their first home in the New Year, OK! reports.

The pair are currently living with Dan’s family in Co. Antrim. Matt is “excited” for his move from Leeds, he said: “Northern Ireland is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to.”

Dan added: “It’s so nice to be able to say it to other people! Our parents have been very patient and understanding with us.”

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Matt explained said: “We’ve obviously had to discuss it a lot and, like in any relationship, there’s been a bit of backwards and forwards.

“I’m a bit older and it’s a big decision for me to move away from Leeds and my family – and it’s a big decision for Dan too, for me to come to him.

“That’s why we didn’t go for it straight away. Compromise has been key but we feel it’s the right decision.”

Dan added: “It’s a big lifestyle change for Matt as well, going from a city to the sea, and I have to be understanding of that.

“But I got what I wanted! I went on the show to find a man to come and live this life with me. That’s what I got, and Matt wanted it, too.”

The pair also opened up on their plans to start a family through adoption.

Dan said: “It’s something we both want and it will strengthen our relationship, but we’re also realistic about the situation.

“I can’t push a baby out and neither can Matt, and we need to have a set up and have our careers sorted. But it will happen

“Our parents are very supportive and, if you want a family, you do need to have a strong network on both sides.”

Matt added: “We have. I’m really pro adoption because I have some friends who are adopted, and one thing that didn’t really come out on the show is that my mum was abandoned when she was born.

“She was a foundling so she was brought up in the care system. She had foster parents but she was never adopted, so that’s why I feel very strongly about adoption.”
