Married At First Sight UK's Gemma confirms split with groom Matt ahead of most 'dramatic' episodes of series

While some marriages are a success on Married at First Sight, others are practically doomed from the start. This is the case for Gemma and Matt who have had a very rocky marriage.

From Matt storming out on Gemma multiple times after arguments to Matt supposedly cheating on Gemma with fellow bride Whitney, things have not gone smoothly for the couple. Matt has denied the cheating claims which are set to be shown in scenes yet to air on the show.

After such a rocky marriage on the show, many fans have speculated that the couple is no longer together and Gemma appears to have confirmed that on her latest Instagram story. When asked by a fan if she was still in contact with Matt or Whitney she replied: "Rather lick white dog s**t" which heavily indicates the couple is no longer together.

Gemma has also posted on Instagram that she is a "local laughing stock". Gemma believes Married At First Sight has edited the show to create "fake reality" and said that people in her local community have begun to recognise her from the show.

She said: "Got a little freaked out in the pub last night with people whispering about me, I'm a local laughing stock due to the truth not being shown."

Gemma has received a lot of support from fans and fellow cast members on Married At First Sight, particularly Thomas. He has been supporting Gemma on his own Instagram, as he claims Matt "wasn't remotely invested" in the marriage.

He said: "She was fully invested, he wasn't remotely invested. His only investment was with the crayons he used to draw them tattoos on."

Thomas also promised that the episodes set to air this week are the most dramatic of the series. They begin on Monday, September 26 with the couples all heading to a retreat together. He said in his latest post: "In terms of drama and stuff next week is probably one of the best weeks for the viewer, one of the worst weeks for my friend Gemma."

Married At First Sight doesn't just end when the series ends - which is expected to be in mid October - as there will be a reunion show. Thomas has also promised the reunion show will bring drama, he said: "Explosive doesn't even come close." when talking about the reunion show.
