Married At First Sight UK has confirmed that the upcoming series will feature the first gay male couple.
The popular dating show is returning to E4 later this month, and is set to be as dramatic as ever.
A new batch of 16 singletons have been unveiled and two of the men will be matched up by experts Melanie Schilling and Paul C. Brunson and will meet for the first time at the altar.
The men's identities currently remain under wraps, and the couples will not be announced until the show starts.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, expert Mel said: "I’m so excited about us having our first gay same-sex couple here this season.

"You’re just going to love every moment of their journey!"
The specialist in human behaviour and performance said that making the series inclusive was very "important" to her.
"This is a big one and I push for it every season," she continued.
"You don’t always get it right and we’re not going to put a same-sex couple together just because they’re both gay, it’s got to be a good match and we don’t always find that."

Paul added: "I think this could be one of the most diverse shows in the love genre that I’ve ever seen.
"It’s incredibly diverse and it’s a great reflection of what modern-day the world looks like. It’s very cool."
Across 21 episodes, the new series will follow eight couples as they meet for the very first time at the altar.

Following the Australian format, rather than legal marriages, the couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a glamorous ceremony, overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake.
The drama sets in when their relationships are put under the microscope by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties – as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process.
Married At First Sight UK is coming to E4 very soon.
