Married at First Sight's Ning becomes granny at 35 as her daughter, 17, welcomes baby

Married at First Sight Australia star Ning Surasiang has become a grandmother at the age of 35.

The reality star revealed on Instagram on Tuesday evening that her daughter Kia, 17, gave birth to a baby girl.

Alongside a black and white snap of Kia embracing her new bundle of joy, Ning - who is also mum to Kobi, nine, and Kai, six - shared that she was by her daughter's side during the birth and praised her for being a "tough cookie."

Glamorous grandma Ning, who was born in Thailand, typed: "So very proud of my oldest daughter, who did something I wasn’t able to ever do. Thank you for having me with you to witness the most incredible, beautiful and raw experience called childbirth.

"Watching your baby have a baby was an emotional experience for all of us, but you kicked arse hunnay! Kia you are one tough cookie. Words can not describe how proud I am of you, you didn’t complain, not once you said you couldn’t do it.

"Not even one curse word. You did better then good mama #nini #grandaughter #newarrival #babyfeels."

Kia is yet to share the name she has chosen for her new arrival.

Married at First Sight Australia, which was filmed back in 2019, has become very popular in the UK since it was released on Channel 4.

At the beginning of the series, strangers are paired together by professionals and are officially married before they're forced to navigate life together and figure out whether they want to remain as a couple.

Ning was partnered up with Mark Scrivens, ten-years her senior, and their wedding wasn't exactly a super romantic affair.

After Ning was greeted by her husband to be at the aisle she shot him down as she said: "I'm just here for the food and drink."

Ahead of the Aussie series starting on UK screens, Ning told that she stood by her words as she shared a clip from the scene and typed: "Airing in the UK! Still stand by this quote thanks for all the beautiful and not so beautiful messages.

She added: "#hatersgonnahate #imjusthereforthefood #wildride."

Since the show ended the pair went their separate ways and Ning moved on with Kane Micallef who she met on dating app Tinder.
