Married at First Sight's Matt hits back at cheating claims

Married at First Sight is full of drama but one golden rule is not to cheat on your bride or groom. It seems that one bride and groom of the 2022 series have broken that rule by cheating on their TV show significant others during the course of this series.

The Daily Mail has reported that groom Matt and bride Whitney spent the night together and cheated on their partners Gemma and Duka. Both marriages have already seen a lot of drama with Whitney ruining her and Duka's wedding and Matt and Gemma failing to get on, with him constantly storming out.

The cheating scenes have yet to air on the show but are set to take place when the couples go away on a couples retreat. Instead of strengthening their own marriages, it appears Matt and Whitney ditch their partners for each other.

Matt has taken to his Instagram story to set the record straight and he denied the cheating claims. He said: "Oh the Daily Mail loves a bloody buzzword, doesn't it. Just to set the record straight there was no cheating, there was no betrayal, me and Gemma had not been together for seven days and we'd been apart more than we'd ever been together."

Matt went on to explain that the paper and their source leaking the cheating scandal ruined the series and said before the cheating took place he wanted to leave the show but was told he had to stay until the next commitment ceremony. While Gemma has been very vocal on her social media about vowing to tell her story regarding her sexual comments, she has not mentioned anything about the cheating affair.

Whitney and Duka have also remained silent about the issue on their social media and have not spoken about the cheating rumours. However, a relationship professional on the show Paul C Brunson has said the show had to stop filming while they dealt with a "wild" wife swap.
