Married At First Sight's bride Morag finally decides she wants to stay with Welsh groom Luke

Married At First Sight's Welsh groom Luke and his bride Morag have decided to stay together in a shock ending to the series.

It looked certain that the 36-year-old fireman from Cardiff was going to be dumped, but his wife finally decided to commit to him, and told him: "I want you in my past, present and future."

The E4 reality show finally aired its much-anticipated final reunion show tonight after Thursday night saw a repeat of Wednesday's episode air instead due to a technical issue.

The pair - who have endured a turbulent relationship during the series - had to decide whether to renew their wedding vows or walk away completely.

During their vowel renewals, Luke told Morag that his "heart belonged to her", but also accused her of "keeping him at arm's length physically and emotionally".

He told her that his decision on whether to renew his vows was "one of the hardest he'd ever had to make," but decided to commit to her, saying: "The fact is Morag, my heart belongs to you."

He told her: "I may not be the man you wanted when we met as strangers on our wedding day. But you need to know I am the man that you deserve. You are an amazing person and the man standing here today will always be your best friend and your biggest support - and I will always bring you tea in bed."

"Let's make memories and go travel the world."

In her vows, Morag raised her concerns, telling Luke: "When we first met at the end of the aisle, we instantly burst into laughter. I thought then we'd be alright. However, it was clear to me from the start that you weren't the sort of guy I'd usually go for. I began to wonder why we'd been matched together.

"During our honeymoon, I began to realise just how polar opposite we were. I was loud, you were quiet. I was bold, you were timid. I was comfortable in my own skin, and you were self-conscious.

"At that time, I wanted to run, I didn't think you were the man for me, I signed up for this wanting a ready-made man, not a project.

"I'm also worried that you are still not being your genuine self. I'm worried that you are not putting your own needs and desires first."

She added: "I'm concerned that if I commit to you again now, we would only find ourselves heartbroken a few months down the line."

However, she told him that "wasn't what she wanted," and said: "I want you in my life. I want you in my past, present and future. The one thing we don't do is give up.

"Our lows have made us stronger, and if we can survive this, we can survive anything. I want to give this my all, and if you do too, then let's start by celebrating with a glass of wine, not that I need one anymore."

Later, Luke said that he and his bride were "absolute proof that the experiment can work."

The finale also saw Luke return home to his family in Cardiff as he and Morag spent a week apart ahead of making a decision on whether or not to renew their vows.

Since getting married on the show, the pair have faced multiple obstacles starting from their wedding day when she admitted he wasn't "what she ordered' ".

She also told her husband that he needed to be 'more manly' as she took him shopping after admitting she didn't like his style, while her friends told him that Morag needed someone "who would fight back".

The couple has moved at different speeds, with Luke falling in love with Morag, while she admitted she did not yet feel the same about him and was scared of breaking his heart.

Regardless, the final commitment ceremony of the series saw Luke choose to stay in the process with his wife.

In tonight's final, Luke returned home and spoke to his mum about his impending decision- with Morag confident that the distance would "make her heart grow fonder".

After telling his mum that he "liked being around" Morag but still had some doubts, she asked him: "Do you want a relationship to be so complicated as what it is?

"Your partner, your love of your life should make you feel good about yourself every single day. Is that how you feel now?"

Tonight's show comes after Channel 4 said it was continuing to experience broadcasting issues after going off-air last week because of a technical problem.

Since Channel 4 and More4 went off the air, issues have resurfaced multiple times.

On Friday, viewers reported on social media that they had experienced sound and picture issues with the broadcaster’s output.

Channel 4 apologised, tweeting: “We are still experiencing technical difficulties, especially with accessible versions of our shows. We’re very sorry and are doing all we can to fix the problem.”

Red Bee Media, which handles playout services for Channel 4 and 5, said last week the disruption was due to an “activation of the fire suppression systems” on Saturday evening.

Earlier this week E4 apologised after airing a repeat episode of Married At First Sight UK instead of the series finale, saying that the issue had been caused by the ongoing “tech issues”.
