Married at First Sight finale ruined as E4 show wrong episode leaving viewers raging

For the second time in a few days, viewers were left raging with E4 as they tuned into to watch the final episode of Married at First Sight, only to get a feeling of deja-vu as a repeat of Wednesday's show played out on screen.

Earlier this week, scores of MAFS fans were left frustrated when they tuned into expecting to see this year's couples go on their first dates, only to be greeted by a black screen and error message as the channel and streaming service All4 were dogged by technical issues.

Those who tuned into E4+1, expecting that the show would be available to watch as it should have been an hour earlier, were left disappointed as they got the same message, while E4 and Channel 4 were blighted with subtitle issues.

Married at First Sight fans were hoping that all of the tech problems would have been sorted in time for Thursday's finale, where the couples we've been invested in for the past month made a final decision on their future.

However, instead of the previously unseen episode, viewers ended up watching the very same episode they'd seen just 24 hours earlier, which then went into an old edition of First Dates.

One angry fan tweeted: "What a shambles and still not available on catch up yet people are announcing what happens in the final. Can someone @E4 sort this mess out."

Equally annoyed, another posted: "My night ruined …… thanks E4 ! Have a blessed one everyone …" and a third reacted: "E4 you should be ashamed of yourselves how could you do this, I’m here in my pyjamas blanket and digestive biscuits with hot chocolate and u put first frigging dates on. Sort it."

Defending E4, one Twitter user commented: "If you’re tweeting about #E4 and #MAFS tonight, please remember there are real people behind the ‘curtain’ trying to do their best after a very difficult week of tech issues."

Tweeting during the programme, E4 said: "We’re aware it’s yesterday’s episode of #MAFSUK playing out this evening and apologise. It’s all down to our ongoing tech issues which we’re working hard on. We’ll update here as soon as we know more and when you’ll be able to see the final episode of MAFS UK."

They then added: "To confirm, #MAFSUK and Afters won’t be playing tonight. We’re sorry again – we’re working to make it available on All 4 and E4 as soon as possible and we’ll update as soon as we know more."
