Married At First Sight expert slams 'shallow' bride over her demands for husband

Married At First Sight’s Paul Carrick Brunson labelled new bride Nikita ‘shallow’ after being stunned by her list of demands in a husband.

In their first meeting, Paul asked the 27-year-old saleswoman what she was after in a partner as he prepared to find her a husband.

Turns out, Nikita is a woman that knows exactly what she’s looking for.

She told him: “I've got to be with someone really hench. So they've got to have, like a big back, big shoulders, big arms, and also big legs. Muscles.

“Six foot, green eyes... tattoos is a bonus, and veneers. Love veneers.”

“You're very, very specific,” Paul said back - but she still wasn’t done.

“Alright, you know what I'm gonna say as well? They've got to have a tan,” Nikita added, before saying: “Do I sound shallow?”

Not mincing his words, Paul told her: "Yes, a little bit. What is shallow is to say that's the only thing that's going to determine if you're happy in a relationship.

“You know what the magic word of marriage is? The magic word of marriage is compromise.”

But Nikita didn’t seem too taken with that idea, and responded with a groan.

Debating who to match her with later on, love expert Mel Schilling said: “I think our job here is to see through the list and really get to the heart of what Nikita needs.”

They eventually matched her with Ant - a 28-year-old model and business development specialist from Manchester.

To be fair to the love doctors, Ant seemingly fit Nikita’s demands pretty well, including the green eyes, 6ft tall and broad muscles.

“I’ve been on the dating scene a while. I don’t really enjoy it. I’m ready to settle down and be a husband to someone,” he said.

He added that he struggled to talk about his emotions, but is close to his brothers.

Family is equally important for Nikita, who declared herself a ‘Daddy’s Girl’ during the chat.

But when the pair first met at the end of the aisle, things soon turned south when Nikita’s veil wrapped around Ant, and she started swearing at the altar.

She later told cameras that the team “hadn’t listened to what she’d said” and appeared far from impressed with her new husband.

While they did exchange vows and slightly warm to each other at the reception, it seems that there’s a rocky road ahead for this couple before they’ve even begun.

Married At First Sight airs Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
