Polarising yet sweet Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 couple Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice are officially married, and honestly, I’m so happy for them.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the season 12 couple — who weren’t initially matched with each other in the experiment — announced that they’ve officially tied the knot in Aotearoa’s Lake Wakatipu.
“Mr & Mrs Rice, 20 April 2026,” the joint post reads, alongside a photo of the pair kissing in front of the beautiful lake.

While comments are limited on the post, which is absolutely fair considering the pair were dubbed as villains during their season, the announcement has been flooded with love and support from friends, family and fans.
Fellow MAFS bride Alyssa Barmonde even shared a series of heart-eye emojis, celebrating the couple’s new status.

For folks who need a refresher on this doozy of a love story, Jacqui was one of the OG brides of the MAFS 2025, where she was matched with Ryan Donnelly. While the pair didn’t last (duh, she’s now married to Clint), they were lighting up headlines for constantly breaking down and making up. Ultimately, at the Final Vows, the pair dumped each other.
During the season’s rollout, Clint joined the experiment as an intruder and was matched with Lauren Hall, who was also an OG bride but failed at the start after she clashed with Eliot Donovan. The pair didn’t even make it to the Final Dinner Party.
With both Jacqui and Clint single, the pair sent shockwaves throughout the experiment after they announced their romantic connection at the reunion. It was a great day to be on X (formerly Twitter).

Jac-Jac-Jacqui eventually gained fiancée status during a So Dramatic! MAFS Reunion viewing party, where Clint got down on one knee, taking their relationship to a new level.
However, the sweet moment was immediately marred by trolls, who claimed that the proposal, the engagement and the relationship were all fake.

Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV, the dynamic duo slammed the “fake claims” as jealousy.
“The funny thing is it’s often the people that are saying that, that haven’t found love, and the people that are in love are actually really supportive,” Clint said.
Regardless of what you think about them, as a couple or individuals, we’re extremely happy that they’ve made things official!
To this day, I often wonder if the MAFS experts saw the recoupling happening beyond the show.
