Marquise Blair still not practicing after back spasms in Minnesota

Seattle Seahawks rookie Marquise Blair gave fans quite the scare Sunday night when he was carted off the field during the team’s preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings. Blair did not return to the matchup.

Coach Pete Carroll confirmed back spasms were the cause of Blair’s departure and are still holding him out of practice this week despite having both Monday and Tuesday to recover.

“He had back spasms in the game and just didn’t quite make it back today,” Carroll said during his Wednesday press conference. “He tried and wasn’t able to go. So that’s a day to day thing.”

The Seahawks still have a couple more days of practice before heading to Los Angeles to face the Chargers Saturday night. If Blair’s injury proves to be nothing more than spasms, he has a chance to travel with the team.

Carroll is expected to give an updated roster injury report before the Seahawks depart.
