Marquis Flowers still has qualms with the final play of Super Bowl LII

The NFL is close to making some big rule changes for the 2019 season.

After already approving a rule proposal to make pass interference calls and non-calls reviewable — they want to do the same with hail mary pass attempts. This could get messy because of the nature of a hail mary pass, and it could change the outcome of many games.

Chris Hogan in Super Bowl LII would be a prime example of this — where he was clearly knocked down while running his route in a hail mary. Former Patriots linebacker Marquis Flowers agreed that Hogan was blatantly interfered with.

This was the final play of the game, where the Patriots ended up losing to the Philadelphia Eagles. If this new rule proposal was in place, the Patriots would’ve had a closer shot at the end zone.

Flowers is right that the non-call could’ve made the difference in the game — but, it could tremendously slow down the pace of NFL games.
