Marquis Flowers reflects on loss to Patriots while playing for Bengals

One of the most memorable moments in recent history for the New England Patriots is the saying — ‘We’re on the Cincinnati’.

Bill Belichick repeated this throughout the entire press conference after New England got embarrassed by the Kansas City Chiefs at home in 2014. ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer infamously said that the Patriots just weren’t good anymore, and that resonated with everyone that followed football.

The story went on, and the Patriots eventually found themselves with a Super Bowl victory that season. But, it all began with that game in Cincinnati. New England went into the game with a chip on their shoulder, and they pulled away with a 43-17 win.

One player who experienced that loss was linebacker Marquis Flowers — who began his rookie season with the Bengals. He eventually found himself in New England, so his perspective on the story was quite comical.

Flowers wasn’t the first player to confidently head into Foxborough and end with a disappointing loss — and he definitely won’t be the last.
