Dec. 04--Chicago Bears receiver Marquess Wilson will miss Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers because of the foot injury he suffered in Wednesday's practice.
Wilson is second on the team in receiving yards (464) and third in catches (28). The team ruled him out Friday on its official injury report.
Neither receiver Eddie Royal (left knee) nor safety Antrel Rolle (right knee) practiced this week, but the Bears listed them as questionable. It's unusual for a player to play in a game after missing all three practices leading up to it.
Losing Wilson and, probably, Royal leaves the receiving corps in the familiar position of counting on reserves such as Josh Bellamy, Marc Mariani and Cameron Meredith to contribute.
"It's a mindset," coach John Fox said. "I think our whole team is kind of used to it and understand it. The reason they're on the 53-man roster is we think they're good enough. So where you are on the depth chart, when you're called upon, we expect you to perform."
Technically, the Bears could activate first-round rookie receiver Kevin White from the physically unable to perform list, but that seems unlikely. White began practicing with the team Nov. 24 as he continues to recover from Aug. 23 surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left tibia.
In other injury news, quarterback Jay Cutler was limited in Friday's practice because of an illness. He's probable for Sunday's game.
Defensive lineman Bruce Gaston (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday after missing practice for the second straight day.
Tight end Zach Miller (ribs) is questionable. Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee (left knee), tight end Martellus Bennett (ribs), tackle Kyle Long (neck) and running back Ka'Deem Carey (concussion) are all probable.
