Marouane Fellaini haircut: Manchester United midfielder goes for drastic new look

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has celebrated turning 31 with a drastic change of style.

Ahead of his birthday, the Belgian has shaved off his synonymous afro for a cleaner, neater look.

He posted three images of his new lid on Instagram, along with the caption: "New year, new look #birthdaytomorrow".

According to reports, Fellaini trusted his favourite barber shop with the important trim; Mitchell's in Brussels.

It is the shortest Fellaini's hair has been since his arrival in England a little over 10 years ago and is a massive departure from his famous fro.

Belgium team-mates Vincent Kompany and Dries Mertens quickly expressed their shock at the shaved locks.

The Manchester City captain replied: "It's photoshopped, it can't be true!" Mertens added: "Noooooooooooooooo." United team-mate Eric Bailly sent similar sentiments.

Fellaini has previously messed with his signature look. He bleached his entire barnet last year, giving him a distinct shade of off-yellow.
