A 135-pound matchup has been added to UFC on ESPN+ 19.
Bantamweights Marlon Vera (14-5-1 MMA, 8-4 UFC) and Andre Ewell (15-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will look to continue their recent success when they square off in “The Sunshine State.”
A person close to the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking Wednesday but asked to remain anonymous as the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.
UFC on ESPN+ 19, takes place Oct. 12 in Tampa, Fla. The card streams on ESPN+ and is headlined by former women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Michelle Waterson.
Vera, 26, will look to extend his win streak to five. In his last outing at UFC 239 in July, Vera submitted UFC newcomer Nohelin Hernandez by second-round rear-naked choke.
Prior to the victory over Hernandez, Vera finished Frankie Saenz, Guido Cannetti, and Wuliji Buren.
Former CES champion Ewell has bookended his lone UFC loss with two wins since his entry into the promotion in September 2018. In his UFC debut, Ewell defeated former UFC champ Renan Barao by unanimous decision. After he lost to Nathaniel Wood by rear-naked choke in December, Ewell returned to form when he defeated Anderson Dos Santos in June.
