Marlon Mack a sleeper RB to finish top 10 in fantasy football?

Training camp is just around the corner and with it will come droves of fantasy football information as the 2019 season inches closer. Among the favorites to have a strong campaign is Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack.

After emerging in the second half of the 2018 season as one of the best fantasy running backs, Mack is set up to have a career-year. Still, some would consider him a sleeper to finish top 10 at the position.

Analysts at CBS Sports feel Mack, who is currently being drafted as the RB16 at 3.04 in half-PPR mocks, feel a big year is ahead.

“I’ll say this, Mack’s been maybe my No. 1 target in all of my drafts, a guy I want to own in every league whenever possible,” said Will Brinson on the Pick Six Podcast. “I think Mack is a top five running back.”

Though they didn’t agree with the top five statement, Sean Wagner-McGough and John Breech also feel Mack has the chance to give fantasy managers a big boost from the running back corps.

“Earlier this offseason when we ranked divisions by running backs, I had the AFC South last, but that said, I think he’s best running back in the division,” said Wagner-McGough on Monday’s episode. “I’d rather have Mack than Derrick Henry, Leonard Fournette or Lamar Miller. I thought Mack was sensational in 12 games, and I don’t see anyone on depth chart who’ll steal carries away from him.”

Breech stated the reason Mack has a chance to have a big year is because of the type of situation he finds himself in.

“The Colts are one of those small market teams people don’t pay lot of attention to,” said Breech. “I think Mack’s a dark horse. Saquon Barkley is going to be facing loaded box because Eli can’t throw the football. Mack will be in the complete opposite situation.”

Mack is currently a value in drafts at his current price. It could rise a little bit as the preseason continues, but even at the end of the second round, he’s in line to give a nice return on investment.
