Marlon Humphrey is the Ravens Player of the Game in Week 5

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime 26-23 to advance to 3-2. The win puts the Ravens at the top of the AFC North temporarily — depending on how the Cleveland Browns fare on Monday night — and knocks the Steelers back to 1-4 and all but out of the running for the division.

It was cornerback Marlon Humphrey who made the game-turning play in overtime, making him our Player of the Game this week.

Humphrey has been the rock in the secondary all season, with Jimmy Smith still out with a knee injury and the younger corners experiencing growing pains after being forced into getting more playing time than originally planned. But this week, Humphrey came up huge when the Ravens needed someone to make a big play, forcing a fumble by wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and then recovering it to set up Justin Tucker’s game-winning field goal in overtime.

This is the second straight week that Humphrey has won our Player of the Game award; last week he took the honor for his performance against Odell Beckham Jr. in Baltimore’s loss to the Browns. It’s indicative of how Humphrey has matured as a corner.
