Marlon Humphrey is ‘ready to rock’ against the Rams

The Baltimore Ravens will be getting their best cornerback back on the field this week against the Los Angeles Rams.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey is expected to return to action this week after missing the previous two games with a calf injury suffered in the team’s Week 10 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Humphrey was asked how he was feeling health-wise during media availability on Wednesday.

“I’m feeling good,” Humphrey said. “[I’m] ready to rock.”

The Ravens have been without Humphrey for much of the season as he has dealt with multiple injuries that have kept him sidelined for different portions of the year.

Despite this, Baltimore’s defense has been one of the most formidable units in the entire NFL. This has largely been thanks to the play of the other cornerbacks on the team, most notably Brandon Stephens. The third-year former safety has stepped up as the team’s No. 1 cornerback in Humphrey’s absence while a combination of Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin has manned the opposite corner position on the outside with Arthur Maulet and second-year safety Kyle Hamilton filling the slot.

Humphrey will be tested by a talented group of wide receivers in his return this Sunday.

“They have some playmakers, for sure,” Humphrey said. “I knew what [Cooper] Kupp could do. [Puka] Nacua kind of came in [as] a surprise. I think he has 1,000 yards already. They just find really good ways to get open. They can beat man coverage. They’re really good in zone [coverage]. Those two guys together are kind of hard. Which one do you want to try to stop [or] try to limit? We’ll definitely have our hands full this Sunday.”
