Marlins-Phillies rained out Tuesday; no makeup date announced

PHILADELPHIA _ Rain postponed the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies' season series opener Tuesday. The teams did not announce a makeup date.

The Marlins will keep their rotation intact, with everybody pushed back one day. Lefty Wei-Yin Chen will start Wednesday opposite Phillies right-hander Vince Velasquez, and Miami right-hander Edinson Volquez will go Thursday in the series finale against righty Jeremy Hellickson.

The Marlins and Phillies have options regarding a makeup date. Miami comes back to Philly Aug. 22-24 and Sept. 12-14. Both teams have days off immediately before both of those series (Aug. 21 and Sept. 11).
