J.T. Realmuto's homers, Justin Bour's glove lift Marlins to win over Reds

CINCINNATI _ It didn't go down in the box score as such, but Justin Bour earned a save for the Miami Marlins on Saturday.

With the Marlins clinging to a lead in their 5-4 win over the Reds, Cincinnati had the potential tying run at third and go-ahead run at first with one out in the eighth. Patrick Kivlehan, the Reds' right fielder, scorched a Junichi Tazawa fastball to first.

A leaping Bour snagged it and stepped on first for an inning-ending double play. That bailed out Tazawa, who allowed a run for the first time in 11 innings this month.

Miami parlayed that play with a pair of homers from J.T. Realmuto and 41/3 good-enough innings from the bullpen for their second win in as many days at Great American Ball Park.

Realmuto went deep in the second, a no-doubter into the upper deck in left, and the sixth, a line drive to left-center. Both long balls put the Marlins ahead and scored Bour (2 for 4).

With 10 on the year, Realmuto has reached double-digit home runs for the third season in a row. He is one shy of his career high of 11, set last year.

Left-hander Chris O'Grady endured a mess of a first inning _ 30 pitches, 12 strikes and three walks, including one with the bases loaded _ but settled in a bit after that. He allowed three runs in 42/3 innings, walking six and striking out six.

Nick Wittgren ended the fifth (getting Adam Duvall striking out looking) and began the parade of Miami relievers. Closer AJ Ramos picked up his 19th save of the season and sixth of the month.

Ramos was the last of five Miami relievers who combined to scatter four hits and one walk while striking out three.

The Marlins scored in the first when Dee Gordon singled to right, stole second, stole third and came home on Giancarlo Stanton's ground out to second.

As was the case Friday, Saturday's game was delayed by the threat of bad weather. The Marlins and Reds started an hour late after it never rained.
