'Marks to prove it' - Millwall star furious over Bristol City tackle after being denied penalty

Millwall star Jayson Molumby says he was denied a 'blatant' penalty in the draw with Bristol City at the weekend.

Molumby went down under a tackle from Robins midfielder Adam Nagy, but referee Andy Davies opted to wave play on in the 1-1 draw.

Speaking to London News Online , Molumby hit out at Davies, and says Nagy's tackle left a mark.

He said: "It was high studs - to the knee.

"I've got the marks to prove it. It's a foul.

"They were two blatant fouls on me. Everyone who watches Millwall regularly knows I don't go down easily or for any reason."

With the Robins feeling they were denied too for a handball, former Premier League referee Mark Halsey has stepped in on Twitter.

After being asked by a City fan about the handball, Halsey said that both sides could well have had a spot kick.

He said: "Looks like you were hard done by.

"I have seen the highlights, you can argue that both Millwall and Bristol City could have had penalties."

A City fan subsequently pressed Halsey on what he believed to be poor officiating - and Halsey argued that the standard is down across the game.

He said: "I do agree the standard of officiating is on the decline at all levels.

"We do have some excellent officials, unfortunately the coaching they receive is nowhere near good enough."
