Marks & Spencer is now selling Percy Pig ice cream for just £3

Marks & Spencer is selling an ice cream-flavoured version of its iconic Percy Pigs sweets to help us get through these difficult times.

The chain says its Percy Pig ice cream is available to buy right now in stores, and it costs just £3 for a 453g tub - perfect to share with friends or family during lockdown.

M&S says the ice cream tastes the same as its beloved Percy Pigs, and features a ripple of its signature fruit sauce running through it.

To complement the raspberry and grape flavour of the ice cream, Marks & Spencer said the ice cream also features the "soft chewy texture of strawberry marshmallow".

The chain said: "The ice-cream has that unmistakable Percy Pig flavour of raspberry and grape, a ripple of signature fruity sauce running through and the soft chewy texture of strawberry marshmallow – its what Percy dreams are made of.

Announcing the news online, Marks & Spencer said: "Four words: Percy. Pig. Ice. Cream. Yep, you heard right.

"Percy-flavoured ice cream, with a ripple of fruit sauce and chewy strawberry marshmallows. And yes, it’s suitable for vegetarians, too.

"Find in store when you're next shopping for your essentials."

Sadly, Percy Pigs don't come with the ice cream - you'll have to pick these up separately.

April Preston, director of product development, said: “Customers have been asking us for a Percy Pig ice-cream for a long time now, so we’re very pleased to be able introduce one at a time when we could all use a little pick me up.

"Percy Pig is loved by so many, so when we develop a new Percy product, we have to ensure every element of the flavour and texture is synonymous with what our loyal fans expect.

"This velvety smooth ice-cream gives that famous Percy Pig flavour, combined with the soft chewy texture of marshmallow. I love two scoops with an extra sprinkling of mini marshmallows on top and a good rom-com.”

But remember - don't race out to buy this as it probably doesn't count as essential purchase. Just pick up a tub when you're next shopping.
