Marks & Spencer employee dies suddenly during shift at Inverness store

A WOMAN has died suddenly during her shift at a Marks & Spencer in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to the M&S in Eastgate on Monday after the employee fell ill.

An M&S spokesperson said: "Sadly a colleague at our Inverness store passed away suddenly.

"Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.”

Police Scotland said the woman's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 12.20pm on Monday September, 26 police were called to reports of concern for a woman at Eastgate, Inverness.

"Emergency services attended but the woman had died.

"Her next of kin have been informed. There are no suspicious circumstances."
